Some vision problems are related to the connection between your eyes and your brain. It takes more than prescription lenses to correct them. These are conditions that typically arise during childhood, but can continue to plague you as an adult. Here at Riverdell Family Vision Care, we are pleased to provide vision therapy, a valuable service that gets effective results.
Amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (crossed eyes), and double vision are all problems that can become permanent if they are not dealt with at an early age. This is also true of certain reading and learning disabilities. And while they are not curable, our Emerson vision therapy makes it so that you can experience improved vision despite such issues. Our eye doctor provides eye exercises that are specifically designed to achieve the desired outcome. Think of them as physical therapy for the eyes. The goal is not to strengthen your eyes, but rather to train them. No two people will have the exact same set of eye exercises to do. Our Emerson vision therapy is tailored just for you. As a rule of thumb, you will come to our office on a once per week or twice per week basis. Each session is about 30 to 60 minutes. This may also be supplemented by a set of exercises to perform on your own. The positive changes for your vision will be gradual and you should start to notice that the effects of the conditions that have been challenging for you are subsiding to some extent.
Whether or not you were diagnosed with, or treated for, amblyopia, strabismus, double vision, or a reading or learning disability as a child, you can still benefit from our Emerson vision therapy now. Please reach out to our office now to set up a time to come in for an examination and consultation.
